Shared Surveys

Collaborate on surveys with your team. All team members can access and work on surveys together based on their team role.

Quick Start

Work with your team on surveys:

  1. Invite team members - Add members to your team in Team Settings > Members
  2. Assign roles - Give members appropriate roles (Owner, Admin, or Member)
  3. Collaborate - Team members can view and edit surveys based on their role

How It Works

Survey access is managed through team membership and roles:

  • Owners have full access to all team surveys and settings
  • Admins can manage all surveys and team members
  • Members can create and edit surveys

Team Roles

Survey access is determined by team membership. See Role-Based Permissions for details.

Owner Full access to all surveys, settings, and billing
Admin Full access to all surveys and team management
Member Can create and edit surveys

Adding Team Members

To add someone to your team:

  1. Go to Team Settings > Members
  2. Click "Invite Member"
  3. Enter their email address
  4. Select their role
  5. Send invitation

The invitee will receive an email to join your team.

Collaborative Editing

Work together on the same survey:

  • All team members with access can edit surveys
  • Changes are saved when you click Save
  • Use the Preview feature to test before publishing

Real-World Examples

Example: Research Team

Scenario: Two researchers building a survey together.

Setup:
- Both researchers are team members
- Each works on different sections
- Use Preview to test the flow
- Set survey status to Active when ready

Example: Adding an Analyst

Scenario: Analyst needs to view responses.

Setup:
- Invite analyst to team as Member
- They can access the survey and responses

Troubleshooting

Issue: Team member cannot see survey

Symptoms: Survey does not appear in their list.

Solutions:

  • Verify they are a member of the correct team
  • Check they accepted the team invitation
  • Ensure they are logged in to the right team
  • Have them refresh the page

Issue: Team member cannot edit

Symptoms: Edit buttons are disabled or missing.

Solutions:

  • Check their team role has edit permissions
  • Verify the survey belongs to the current team
  • Refresh the page

Best Practices

  • Use appropriate roles - Assign roles based on responsibilities
  • Review team members regularly - Remove access when no longer needed
  • Communicate changes - Let collaborators know of updates
  • Test before publishing - Use Preview to verify the survey flow
