Analytics Dashboard

Visualize and understand your survey data. View response trends, completion rates, answer distributions, and insights in real-time as responses come in.

Quick Start

Access analytics in three steps:

  1. Open your survey - Navigate to the survey from Surveys
  2. Click Analytics - Select the Analytics tab from the survey menu
  3. Explore the data - View summary stats, filter responses, and analyze question data

Dashboard Overview

The analytics dashboard provides at-a-glance insights:

Summary Cards

Metric Description

Panel Source Stats

When using Research Panel Integrations, the dashboard shows a breakdown of responses by panel source with completion rates for each platform (Prolific, MTurk, CloudResearch, etc.) and direct responses.

Filtering Responses

Filter analytics to focus on specific data segments:

Available Filters

Filter Options
Date Range All Time, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days
Status Complete, Incomplete, Screened Out, All

Troubleshooting

Issue: Charts not loading

Symptoms: Analytics page shows loading or error.

Solutions:

  • Refresh the page
  • Check internet connection
  • Try a different browser
  • Clear browser cache

Issue: "No data to display" message

Symptoms: Page shows empty state with no charts.

Solutions:

  • Check if survey has any responses
  • Verify filters are not too restrictive
  • Ensure survey has chartable question types (radio, checkbox, slider, number, NPS, mood)

Issue: Metrics seem wrong

Symptoms: Numbers do not match expectations.

Solutions:

  • Check date range filter
  • Verify status filter (complete vs. all)
  • Review what counts as complete vs. incomplete
  • Check if source filter is limiting results

Issue: Missing responses in charts

Symptoms: Some responses not appearing.

Solutions:

  • Check filters are not excluding them
  • Verify responses are completed (default filter shows only complete)
  • Check date range includes them
  • Set status filter to "All" to see everything

Best Practices

  • Check analytics regularly - During active data collection
  • Use filters - Focus on relevant segments
  • Compare panel sources - When using multiple recruitment platforms
  • Monitor completion rate - Low rates may indicate survey issues
  • Review screened out count - High numbers may need screen-out criteria review
